I have so much to be thankful for. Over the last few days I was able to spend some time with my fiancé and her family in Southern California at her brother's house. It was a wonderful trip and one from which I didn't want to return. As we were sitting around the table on Thanksgiving, however, I was thinking about how much God has truly blessed me. I have health, family, friends, and a profession where I spend my time sharing the love of God with those around me. Most of all, I have the gift of salvation and the unequaled relationship with God Himself.
What are you thankful for? Has God blessed you? If so, are you sharing that with the people you come in contact with every day? I sometimes tell myself that my friends don't care about having a relationship with God, so why even bother telling them. Or maybe I convince myself that evangelism and sharing my faith is too hard and won't produce the results necessary to justify the effort. When these thoughts fill my mind, I immediately think of the verse in Psalms which says, "He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him" (Psalm 126:6). God doesn't just tell us to share our faith – He promises a bountiful harvest. Aren't you looking forward to that great Thanksgiving day in heaven when we come with rejoicing, bringing those who are there because of our witness with us?
Longing for that day,
